LOBBY RENOVATION

2650 North Lakeview
3,000 square feet

2650 North Lakeview is a 1970's vintage highrise condominium tower in Chicago overlooking Lincoln Park and Lake Michigan. After 40 years of operation the building lobby had lost its visual appeal, with an excess of dark brown brick, obsolete lighting and worn out finishes and furnishings. The Board asked Eastlake Studio to modernize the lobby, while showing sensitivity to the existing fabric of the building.

The completed design includes significant aesthetic upgrades including replacement of the brick floor with a more contemporary porcelain tile, a streamlined reception desk with an illuminated Onyx front, frameless glass security doors, refurbished classic furniture and decorative pendant lighting. Infrastructure improvements included a new radiant heating system, energy efficient lighting and accessibility upgrades to the entry. The resulting lobby is warm, bright and welcoming.
