Litera delivers innovative document technology solutions to legal, corporate, and life sciences organizations across the globe. Headquartered in Chicago, the goal of their new workplace was to house several companies in one space that emphasized natural light, and energetic branding elements. Inspired by the geometry of Litera’s logo, we created a colorful corridor to draw visitors from the elevator lobby to the suite’s entrance, an otherwise confusing entry sequence. Citrus shades continue into the reception area, surrounding a millwork feature wall, and reappear in flashes to designate open and closed collaboration areas and phone rooms. We utilized the building’s square floor plate by adding small “islands” of meeting and phone rooms throughout the open plan, while positioning the active break zones centrally, and the workstations along the windows.
