MASON AVENUE

400 N Michigan Ave
Wrigley Building
4,000 square feet
Located in the historic Wrigley Building, Mason Avenue Investments is the new headquarters for a privately held investment company. The client requested a quietly elegant office that could adapt to the future needs of an evolving business.
Some negotiation was required to find the right balance between a contemporary interior and the historic surroundings. The resulting design strikes a modern chord with bright white terrazzo floors, while rich millwork and spare use of traditional moldings are a nod to the historic context. Strict historic preservation requirements and a desire to maximize natural light resulted in most enclosed space pulled away from the exterior window line, exposing stunning treetop views over the Chicago River.
